With its roots in motorsport, Austrian motorcycle manufacturer KTM has specialised in building off-road bikes since its inception and has won over 130 world off-road titles as a result. In recent years, KTM has diversified to also produce streetbikes that include sports bikes, adventure tourers, and road going machines.

KTM is known as a technology pioneer, and the company was the first to produce a liquid-cooled, four-stroke engine specifically for off-road motorcycles. Other leading technologies include front and rear disc brakes, linkless rear suspension off-road bikes, and hydraulic clutch mechanisms on all KTM bikes.
