Direct Access Scheme (DAS) - Motorcycle Training
This is the quick way to a Full motorcycle licence. You must be over 21 years old, have already passed the D.S.A. theory test for motorcycles and you must pass your test on a motorcycle that produces at least 46.6bhp or 35kw. (usually a motorcycle of around 500cc or over, ART uses Kawasaki ER500's). Remember that if you want to practice for your test on this size bike, you can only do so if accompanied by a professionally qualified D.S.A. approved motorcycle instructor, not just your mate with a full licence! Once you have taken and passed both the motorcycle theory test and completed CBT this can be achieved over 3, 4, 5, 6, or 7 day's training. When you have passed the D.A.S. you can ride any machine of any cc and unlimited capacity.
Please note that training course lengths are determined by the individual's level of skill and competence. The number of days spent on training is advised by our instructors after an assessment of your riding skills. This assessment can be carried out when the CBT road ride (Module E) is undertaken, or if you already have a current CBT certificate, you can ring us to arrange a free assessment.
All of our on road training is a maximum of 2:1 (other schools may offer 3:1 or even 4:1 which drastically reduce the quality & safety of the tuition )
