EICMA celebrates is Centenary Year in 2014
Exciting ‘Showtimes’ as the big guns unveil their new models at EICMA!
The Italian motorcycle Show EICMA celebrates its 100th anniversary next week and what great timing as the major manufacturers promise one of the best ever line-ups of new models!
Also known as the Milan Motorcycle show, this annual trade event sees half a million visitors through its doors and during its century of use 25 million people have revolved through its hallowed doors…. So it’s quite big!
There are two big shows; one in Germany (INTERMOT) and the Milan Show with the first seeing the launch of the jaw dropping supercharged 300bhp Kawasaki H2, plus the new Suzuki GSX-S1000 models and retro Yamaha XJR’s.
So what can we expect from EICMA? Well probably the most eagerly awaited machine of the year, the ALL new Yamaha YZF-R1, is promised to rekindle the original spirit of the R1- with incredible power output, lightweight chassis and for the first time a hi-spec electronics package.
Kawasaki will be launching the road legal version of their H2, with less power but still an incredible machine… which might actually see the light of day! Ducati have a new flagship machine in the pipeline which insiders claim will be dubbed the 1299, plus an all new Multistrada. There are also rumours still abounding that Honda have progressed their V4 MotoGP bike for the road, so more info on that also hopefully.
With other machines expected from all of the main Japanese and Italian manufacturers, plus the 2015 lines from companies such as Alpinestars, Dainese, Arai and Shoei, EICMA is looking to celebrate it’s centenary with a bang!
