Suzuki reveals spec for 2012 GSX-R1000
Suzuki has released details of the new GSX-R1000 superbike.Suzuki has unveiled the latest version of its flagship superbike, the GSX-R1000.
For 2012, the Japanese manufacturer has enhanced the performance of the popular superbike, with an improved engine and chassis.
Suzuki has adopted MotoGP-derived finite-element-analysis and fatigue-analysis techniques, creating new pistons that are 11 per cent lighter while improving acceleration.
Valve lift has also been optimised while compression ratio increases, helping to produce a significant boost in mid-range engine performance.
A total of 2kg has been shed from the overall weight of the bike, which combined with the added engine performance makes the 2012 GSX-R1000 a notable improvement on its predecessor.
Further additions for the new machine include Brembo's highly acclaimed Monoblock callipers and chassis modifications that put less weight through the front tyre, making manoeuvring easier.
The 2012 GSX-R1000 will make its European debut on the Suzuki stand at the EICMA International Motorcycle Exhibition in Milan on November 8th.
