Honda vehicles take on the speed of the HMS Albion
The VRF1200 was one of the vehicles used by Mr WaltonJournalist Mark Walton was pleased to have his well-ventilated motorcycle leathers on when he undertook an epic challenge.
In a piece for Car Magazine the writer sought to beat the time of 30 hours set by the HMS Albion when it repatriated Brits stranded by the volcanic ash cloud.
Mr Walton would travel from southern Spain using only Honda vehicles, including motorcycles, quad bikes, cars and boats.
As the journey began with a 160mph charge down the motorway on the VFR1200 motorbike in the baking sun, he was glad that his motorcycle leathers managed to keep him cool.
Writing in Car Magazine, Mr Walton said that the whole experience perfectly showcased the cutting edge technology offered by Honda.
Anyone inspired by the off-road aspect of his journey may wish to take advantage of the new Redtread Honda off-road centre that has now opened in Morocco, complementing the one already in operation in Spain.
