Kiyonari leads one-two for Honda at Mallory
Honda claimed victory at Mallory ParkKiyonari won both feature races, on both occasions fending off his teammate Josh Brookes to lead Honda home to impressive one-twos at Mallory Park.
The Japanese rider expressed his delight at his victorious double, which was perhaps inevitable given his consistent pace throughout the weekend.
"Today's results have been a team effort for sure. I had a difficult start to the season but we have turned it around and I think our hard work has paid off," he said.
Brookes did pressure the leader and appeared able at one point to better Kiyonari's pace, but he knew if he continued to push he would end up sliding his motorcycle leathers through the gravel trap, so eased off late in the race.
Earlier this month, Brookes made history by leading HM Plant Honda home to a British Superbike win at Silverstone - the first recorded on the new Arena circuit.
