Silverstone spectator rides away with Yamaha prize

The lucky winner of a Yamaha competition was awarded motorcycle leathers and a new bike.

A lucky biker from Dorset has had a MotoGP event at Silverstone to remember, after riding home on a brand new Yamaha YZF-R1 that he won in a competition.

Steve Randall went away with the grand prize, including a set of custom Yamaha Dainese motorcycle leathers, an AGV Rossi replica motorcycle helmet and an all-access pass to the British round of MotoGP.

He won the goodies after being entered into a draw simply for test-riding a Yamaha bike.

He said: "I really thought it was a wind-up when I got the mail to say I had won the big prize.

"I have a number of bikes in the garage but tested the R1 and loved it. Little did I know that I would win one!"

On June 27th, the Yamaha R1 and R6 Owners Club will get together to attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the largest parade of Yamaha motorcycles.
