MotoGP riders ready for new Silverstone challenge
British MotoGP heads to SilverstoneThe track has been altered and a new infield section added, but the likes of Nicky Hayden, Casey Stoner, Dani Pedrosa and Jorge Lorenzo will not have any extra time to learn the new layout.
They will get their first experience of the circuit today (Friday) and a further free practice session on Saturday morning, before qualifying takes place in the afternoon.
Australian Ducati Marlboro rider Casey Stoner said he is glad the competition returns to Silverstone this year, despite there being only one section left that he has experience of.
"It will be a fast circuit, one of the fastest on the calendar, and one of the most spectacular and I'm sure there'll be a great atmosphere," he commented.
One rider who won't be getting to grips with the new layout is Valentino Rossi.
The Italian Fiat Yamaha rider had a big off in Mugello earlier this month and broke his leg, meaning he is out for the foreseeable future.
