Rossi gone but not forgotten by Yamaha fans

Rossi is recovering from a crash at the Italian GP.

Yamaha Motor UK has sent a message of goodwill to injured champion Valentino Rossi, using the weekend's Silverstone MotoGP event to do it.

Rossi was glad of his motorcycle helmet earlier this month, after the seven-time MotoGP champ suffered a nasty crash during practice for the Italian Grand Prix.

He was taken to hospital and is currently undergoing treatment for what is believed to be a shin fracture.

However, Yamaha Motor UK was keen to show that they were still thinking of him after getting some Rossi fans together at Silverstone to hold placards which spelled out - in Italian - "Get well soon Valentino. We miss you!".

"There is a huge amount of support for Valentino in this country and we are very proud that he is riding for Yamaha," said Simon Belton, marketing manager for Yamaha.

"It's the least we can do to demonstrate that we are all thinking of him."
