Martin crashes out of TTThe Lincolnshire biker was riding the number 8 Honda machine in the Senior TT when he came off in the Ballagarey area.
He had been leading the pack and was at the end of the second lap, heading in to the pits when the incident happened.
Though not seriously injured, he was taken to hospital by helicopter and was found to have suffered bruising to both lungs and minor fractures to his upper spine.
"I've been lucky, I think my suit, helmet and protections did their job," Martin said afterwards.
"I thank you everybody for the support, I'll be back racing very soon."
Maric Thorpe, accident and emergency consultant at Noble's Hospital, added that Martin is expected to stay in hospital for a few days.
He was talking throughout his treatment and wanted to assure fans his commitment is as strong as ever, Mr Thorpe stated.
