Dani Pedrosa claims Grand Prix of Japan victory
Dani Pedrosa claims Grand Prix of Japan victoryDani Pedrosa was celebrating when he removed his motorcycling gloves this weekend, as the Spaniard claimed first place in the Grand Prix of Japan.
Pedrosa's win marks the first ever Honda victory on the track since Makoto Tamada reigned victorious in 2004. Jorge Lorenzo finished in second place, while Casey Stoner followed in third.
Commenting on his win, Pedrosa said: "I'm happy because at this track I've had a mix of good and bad results and some bad injuries, so to come back one year later and win in MotoGP is fantastic."
He explained that he was alone in front with Lorenzo nearby, but attempted to put his head down and push during every lap in order to pull away.
It was revealed last week that American rider John Hopkins will be back in Rizla Suzuki motorcycle clothing for the Malaysian Grand Prix this season.
