Help choosing summer motorcycle gloves
The arc-on Stinger and Held Phantom have been reviewed by londonbikers.com.Mr Harbron compared the cheaper arc-on Stinger at £75 to the higher-end Held Phantom, which retails at £160, concluding that both were "excellent products".
New for 2010, the arc-on gloves are made from cowhide and feature a hard carbon/plastic mix to protect the knuckles, while wrists are guarded with a larger protection plate.
Meanwhile, the Held Phantom motorcycle gloves are longer than the Stinger and have two rigid carbon fibre plates that reach further over the wrists, as well as being wrought in stylish stingray skin.
Mr Harbron finished by recommending that bikers who see a lot of trackdays and fast riding in their future should opt for the Phantoms, which are hard-wearing gloves that will "last for years".
British firm arc-on put in an appearance at this year's Ally Pally Bike Show, which was held at Ace Cafe London.
