Ben Spies confirms Pramac Ducati MotoGP deal
Ben Spies will be riding for Pramac Ducati in 2013.Ben Spies will be wearing Pramac Ducati motorcycle leathers next season, as he confirmed he will move to the outfit for 2013.
The former world superbike champion was thought to be leaving MotoGP altogether after his exit from the factory Yamaha team was revealed last month.
Spies' departure from the Japanese team opened the door for Valentino Rossi to make a return to Yamaha after two years with the factory Ducati outfit.
The American will be joined at Pramac Ducati by Andrea Iannone, who is currently fourth in the Moto2 standings.
"Ducati means so much happiness, but also a lot of responsibility: an Italian rider on an Italian bike creates expectations," Iannone told MotoGP.com, with a nod to Rossi's travails at Ducati over the last two seasons.
Andrea Dovizioso and Nicky Hayden are already confirmed as he riders for the factory Ducati team next year.
Spies lines up alongside Yamaha teammate Jorge Lorenzo for the San Marino Grand Prix this weekend at the Marco Simoncelli circuit in Misano.
