Samsung Honda celebrate podium finishes
Samsung Honda is celebrating a stunning eighth round of the British Superbike Championship, which saw the racing team secure podium finishes.
In the opening race, Michael Laverty donned his motorcycle clothing and landed a third place finish, after taking the lead in the opening lap.
The result has secured the rider a position in the season Showdown and was made all the more sweet when Laverty took third again in the second race behind rivals Tommy Hill and Josh Brookes.
"It feels good to know we have the position in the Showdown secured as that was our agenda here this weekend," he said, adding that the second race was much more comfortable than first but his rhythm was disrupted when Brookes came at him.
The 2007 British Supersport Champion stated that his focus will now be on getting more podium credits to close the gap on the competition.
There was success elsewhere for Samsung Honda in Superstock 1000 Championship, where Jason O'Halloran clinched third after dropping to fourth during the race.
With two positions remaining for next week's Showdown, eyes are on the likes of Tommy Bridewell, Alex Lowes and James Westmoreland to see who will make the cut.
