Leon Haslam looking forward to Silverstone race
Haslam can't wait for Silverstone.Leon Haslam is one of the British riders looking for a boost at his home race this weekend, as round ten of the World Superbike Championship revs into action at Silverstone.
The BMW rider, who has been helping Dainese in the development of its airbag system, D-air Racing, wants to get back to top after getting through his two least-favourite circuits.
Haslam, still chasing a win this season, said: "The last couple of rounds have been tough but I feel that we took important steps and can now get back to normal and to winning ways."
High speed corners, a fast, flowing circuit and some technical sections make Silverstone one of the most appealing races of the year for the 29-year-old.
Haslam has finished in the top three aboard his BMW S1000RR race machine five times this season and currently lies sixth in the standings.
The Derbyshire rider will be in Kent after the Silverstone race to meet racing fans and talk about his work with Dainese.
In particular, he will discuss how the D-air Racing airbag saved him during a high side at over 150mph last year.
