Test your skills at the speedway
Test your skills at the speedwayThe Sheffield Tigers Speedway team and Pirtek Racing have joined forces with South Yorkshire Safer Roads Partnership to improve motorcycle road safety.
As part of the campaign the organisations have organised a race day at Sheffield Tigers Speedway meet on May 3rd.
The day will give attendees a chance to brush up on their road safety knowledge, as well as try out a number of simulators and meet members of the Sheffield Tigers team.
"Motorcycles make up only one per cent of traffic on the roads but account for almost 20 per cent of all road related casualties. We're attending the Speedway track to promote the importance of road safety, both from the perspectives of the rider and driver," said Chris Lewis, motorcycle casualty reduction officer for the Safer Roads Partnership.
Keith Watts from South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue, who is also attending the event, suggested that the speedway is a great place for bikers to push themselves, but they need to remember to stick to the limit while on the road.
