Schwantz and Mamola to make festival appearance
Mallory Park's Festival of 1,000 Bikes will feature Kevin Schwantz and Randy Mamola.Legendary racers Kevin Schwantz and Randy Mamola will be two of the top stars appearing at Festival of 1,000 Bikes this summer.
The event, which takes place at Mallory Park between July 6th and 8th, will feature a Past Masters headline show, which has previously boasted appearances form the likes of Freddie Spencer and Kenny Roberts.
Mamola will be aboard his 1980 XR31 RG500, while Schwantz will climb back on the Suzuki RGV500, the Motorcycle News reports.
For the latter, Mallory Park holds a special place in his heart, as it was the scene of his first race on a 500cc two-stroke GP bike, and he looking forward to riding there again.
Event organiser and chief executive of the Vintage Motor Cycle Club James Hewing told the publication: "Kevin has been the most requested rider to head up this year's line-up and it’s is a huge privilege to make this dream come true."
Since leaving racing Mamola helped to found Riders for Health, now the official charity partner of MotoGP.
