Motorcycle lessons a testing time for Jorge Lorenzo
Jorge Lorenzo has swapped his M1 for a YBR 250 for motorcycle lessons.Having completed the first official testing session of the 2012 MotoGP season, 2010 world champion Jorge Lorenzo is now concentrating on becoming road legal.
Despite having dominated motorcycle racing since he was a child, winning titles throughout age groups, the Spaniard never got round to completing his motorcycle licence test.
The theory test has been passed and Lorenzo is now practicing this week on the roads of Mount Montjuic in Barcelona.
Swapping his 200mph Yamaha M1 for a YBR 250cc model, Lorenzo obviously has the technique to pass the exam, but is finding it difficult to keep his speed in check.
"My teacher Javi is the only person in the world who has told me to go slower on a bike, and I have to pay attention if I want to pass the exam. If you go fast, you don't pass," explained Lorenzo.
"I have to slow myself down. I've never tried to go slow on a bike, I've always just gone as quickly as possible."
