KTM takes AMA Supercross win with Ryan Dungey
Ryan Dungey has secured KTM's first win in AMA Supercross.Having produced a dominant display in the Dakar Rally, there is cause for double celebration at KTM after the manufacturer secured its first American Medical Association (AMA) Supercross win.
Rider Ryan Dungey took his KTM 450 SX-F Factory Edition bike to the flag with a storming display in Phoenix.
Dungey had qualified in third place and achieved only a fourth in his heat, but things were different when the gate went down for the race as he stormed into an unassailable lead to take the win in just his second race for KTM.
The rider described the victory as "incredible", while team manager Roger DeCoster added: "It feels really good that we were able to deliver for the people that backed us. We have proved ourselves with a win and intend to keep progressing."
Dungey now sits joint top of the Supercross standings with Kawasaki's Ryan Villopoto, following a third place in his first race with the team.
