Alvaro Bautista back in motorcycle clothing for MotoGP test
Suzuki's Alvaro Bautista is enjoying being back on his bike after injurySuzuki rider Alvaro Bautista has continued his remarkable comeback from a broken femur by putting on his motorcycle clothing and participating in the Estoril MotoGP test.
The Spaniard broke his leg in practice for the Qatar Grand Prix, but returned to the track in his motorcycle clothing for the Portuguese Grand Prix at the weekend.
Suzuki's only MotoGP representative was predictably off the pace, as the gruelling physical challenge of a 28-lap took its toll.
Predicatably, Bautista had a lot of soreness and stiffness the day after the race, but he still managed to put in some positive lap times on the GSV-R, completing 17 laps in the testing session.
"My leg was really sore today - as I expected - but it was good enough to do four laps at a time and I really wanted to understand this new chassis, so I have to forget the pain and do some work, this is the life of a racer," he said.
