Motorpoint Yamaha disappointed at Brands Hatch
Motorpoint Yamaha suffer defeatThe Motorpoint Yamaha team had a disappointing weekend at Brands Hatch, after a number of crashes and problems punished the team for points.
Loris Baz strapped on his motorcycle helmet hoping for a podium position in race one, but was eventually forced to settle for seventh position before a rear tyre problem in race two put paid to his hopes of a turnaround.
Meanwhile, James Westmoreland put on his Yamaha motorcycle leathers for his first-ever Superbike race, which proved similarly unsuccessful as he crashed out of both events.
"I knew it would be tough and I knew it was not the best place for these two young guys to start their year," said team manager Rob Mac.
"It's over now and what we have seen is the incredible pace they both have and the level of our bike."
The weekend must have been particularly painful for Loris Baz, who stormed to victory aged just 15 at in the Junior European Superstock Series at Brands Hatch.
