Tommy Hayden steals Superbike victory
The Hayden brothers are proving a racing force to be reckoned with.Tommy Hayden showed he has the potential to be as big as his MotoGP champ brother Nicky after pulling on his motorcycle clothing to race to his fifth win of the 2010 AMA American Superbike series.
In a nail-biting finish, Hayden won the race at Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, Alabama just 0.52 seconds ahead of his closest rival, putting him a scant 18 points from the series leader.
Speaking after the event, the Rockstar Makita Suzuki rider said: "I was able to get a good jump off the start and put myself in a good track position.
"I just tried to put my head down and not let the gap between me and the leader get any bigger. Then I just chipped away at it."
Meanwhile, Nicky Hayden recently celebrated his second Ducati podium finish at Motorland Aragon, pulling ahead of championship favourite Jorge Lorenzo on the final lap to take the win.
