Stoner and Pedrosa in Suppo controversy
Casey Stoner may be chosen as Honda's number one rider for 2011.The Repsol Honda MotoGP team has been hit by controversy ahead of the roll-out of its 2011 squad, which will be led by Casey Stoner and Dani Pedrosa.
Pedrosa is reportedly unhappy that Livio Suppo, Stoner's former team manager at Ducati, has taken on a management role at Honda, according to ABC Sport.
He fears that Stoner will be given preferential treatment as Honda's number one rider when the pair suit up in their motorcycle clothing for next year's season.
"There seems to be some conflict in the team and I don't know why, I'm not even there yet," the news provider reports Stoner as saying.
The Australian rider said that there is no place for bickering, adding: "If you are going to ride for a team you need to be team player and I have no issues."
Pedrosa and Stoner are currently second and third respectively in the MotoGP World Championship standings, behind Jorge Lorenzo at the top of the table.
