Hayden ready for Italy after motorcycle clothing mishap in Indy
MotoGP heads to Ducati's home track this weekendNicky Hayden is in positive mood ahead of MotoGP's trip to Italy, despite a motorcycle clothing problem hampering his progress in Indianapolis.
A torn knee slider prevented the American from capitalising on his good form and achieving a potential podium position.
But as a Ducati rider, Hayden always looks forward to racing in Italy and performing in front of thousands of ardent fans.
He told the MotoGP website: "We had a really good pace in race trim during practice and warm-up at Misano last year but I got hit from behind in the race on the Sunday.
"In 2008 I didn't race because of a foot injury so we'll try to make up for it on Sunday."
Meanwhile, his teammate Casey Stoner is looking to bounce back from the mishap in Indianapolis that saw him rolling around in the gravel in his motorcycle clothing.
Stoner will be leaving Ducati at the end of the season to join Honda, making way for Valentino Rossi's arrival at the Italian team.
