Plater happy to be back in his motorcycle clothing
Plater is happy to be back in his leathersHonda racer Steve Plater has spoken of his joy at pulling on his motorcycle clothing again for the first time after his accident earlier this year.
The Englishman broke his arm and two vertebrae in practice for the North West 200 event, with the race director Mervyn Whyte saying at the time that the crash could have been fatal if it had not been for the air fencing at the corner.
But Plater is now back after taking some laps of the Indy track at Brands Hatch, and he is hoping to return for the Cadwell Park round of the British Superstock Championship on the August Bank Holiday.
"This morning I woke up and I was revving for it; I was just so excited about getting the motorcycle leathers back on and doing some laps in a relaxed fashion," he said.
He went on to say he has been having physiotherapy twice a week and is simply waiting for an all-clear from the doctors before returning to racing.
