Protective motorcycle clothing 'essential equipment for bikers'

Protective clothing is a must for all bikersThis message is at the heart of campaign from a Calderdale road safety group, which aims to highlight that each biker is someone's son or daughter, the Halifax Courier reports.
As well as highlighting the need for protective clothing, the campaign wants riders to brush up on their skills with the Yorkshire Quality Riders training scheme.
Calderdale Council's road safety projects manager David Short is himself a biker who enjoys the low petrol costs and ability to zip through traffic that bikes offer.
Yet he believes the campaign carries a vital message: "[The] Someone's Son [campaign] brings home the fact that we are all people who matter a great deal to someone else and we all have a responsibility to look out for each other."
