Govt support sought for free bike and motorcycle clothing provision
Wheels to Work provides scooters to those who need themIn addition, the representative body is calling for the creation of a national co-ordinator post to develop the Wheels to Work scheme.
The programme looks to help people who have no access to training, education or employment due to a lack of suitable transport.
Solutions offered include the loan of moped and scooters, which the MCI feels is even more important in times of public spending cuts.
"Wheels to Work is an incredible scheme that is enabling young people to access employment and college and also introducing them to the fun and freedom of a powered two-wheeler for a very reasonable cost," said MCI chief executive office Steve Kenward.
The MCI is also heavily promoting the Get On campaign, which provides free starter courses for those thinking about getting into motorcycling.
