Honda TT told there is 'room for improvement' in Le Mans 24hrs qualifying
Honda TT riders John McGuinness, Mathieu Gines and Cameron Donald have all posted impressive times in their two 30-minute sessions on the Le Mans 24 Hours course.
However, team manager Neil Tuxworth believes there is still lots of room for improvement and is seeking to go faster today (September 7th).
The trio have been placed seventh on the provisional starting grid based on their times, while BMW Motorrad France secured pole.
Donald in particular was disappointed he was slower around the track than in 2011.
"I was considerably faster here last year," he said. "We made one or two changes on the bike that I struggled with a bit but it's getting there. I went fastest on a race tyre, which is always positive and I'm feeling good on the bike."
The 35th Le Mans 24 Hours for Motorbikes kicks off this weekend. The last FIM Endurance World Championship race at Oschersleben saw the Honda TT Legends team secure 4th spot.
Suzuki Endurance Racing Team, who lead the championship, won the event in Germany.
