Another victory for Lorenzo extends his lead
Jorge Lorenzo roars to victory at Assen.Jorge Lorenzo's lead at the top of the Moto GP standings is beginning to look unassailable after another resounding victory in Assen.
The sixth round of the championship saw the Yamaha rider collect his fourth win, which now leaves the young Spaniard with a lead of 47 points over second-placed Dani Pedrosa in the standings.
Lorenzo led from the front and although Pedrosa and Ducati's Casey Stoner followed behind posting faster times than expected, the Yamaha rider eased his way through the laps, always maintaining a secure advantage.
With Italian icon Valentino Rossi out of action following the broken leg he suffered at Mugello, perhaps the most interesting aspect of the title race has become Jorge Lorenzo's victory celebrations.
Having previously taken off his motorcycle helmet to eat popcorn and watch himself on the big screen in Italy and imitated the Beatles for Brits last weekend, Dutch spectators saw him do the robot in the gravel trap.
