Bikers reminded of need for security
Keep bike secure, police adviseOfficers in Darwen have launched a new scheme for motorcycle clothing wearers after dozens of bikes were taken in just a few months.
They can claim a free disc-lock to keep their wheels secure when parked in public.
The locks are less susceptible to being broken than regular chains, explained PCSO Chris Lancaster.
"I urge motorcyclists to keep their bikes off the road and out of sight when not in use," he said.
There are many ways bikers can protect their wheels, both at home and when out and about.
On the driveway or in the garage a ground anchor and strong chain should be used, while an alarm or some sort of tag on the bike will deter thieves when the bike is parked in public.
