Öhlins racing ADD British Superbike TO WSB & MotoGP Championships
Öhlins Honda Plant Team take BSBÖhlins Racing celebrated a clean sweep of the podium in the MCE British Superbike Championship at Oulton Park, to add to their recent World Superbike and MotoGP titles.
Whilst the battle between Tommy Hill (Worx Crescent Suzuki) and the HM Plant Honda duo of Josh Brookes and Ryuichi Kiyonari continued throughout the weekend, Öhlins Racing sat in the enviable position of an almost guaranteed series domination.
Öhlins technician Andy White had his hands full helping the Worx Suzuki squad to rebuild Tommy Hill’s machine after a massive race two victory but it was the Harris supported HM Plant Honda team who finally took the series 1-2 with Kiyo taking the crown from Brookes.
Both the HM Plant Honda and Worx Crescent Suzuki squads utilise state of the art Öhlins FGR 000 Superbike forks featuring the new TTX25 cartridge design which has lighter yet more rigid outer tubes. At the rear, an Öhlins TTX36 2010 spec shock with twin tube design keeps traction to a maximum. Other notable British Superbike squads using Öhlins include Knockhill race winner Michael Rutter with his RidersMotorcycles.com Ducati team, the MSS Colchester Kawasaki set-up and Motorpoint Yamaha. A total of 24 out of 36 BSB riders have chosen the high-quality Swedish suspension equipment.
In the much followed ‘Evo’ series, yet another title was added to the Öhlins cabinet when Jentin BMW took the Championship with an ecstatic Steve Brogan.
The race paddock now has three Öhlins support vehicles with FTR Suspension, Harris Performance and Kais Suspension Services all catering for different riders and teams. Chris Witter, Business Development Manager, Öhlins Racing UK commented, "Top three in the BSB series to back up a 100% rider line-up in MotoGP and our World Superbike title makes this a fantastic season for Öhlins. Our thanks and congratulations to all our loyal teams."
