Honda take clean sweep at IOM TT

Honda take top spot at IOM TT

Honda motorbikes and riders took a clean sweep at the Isle of Man TT this year with seven out of seven race wins.

The most outstanding result came from Ian Hutchinson, who made history when he became the first man to win five TT races in a week on his Honda Fireblade and CBR600RR bikes.

His achievement broke the record held by previous Honda rider Phillip McCallen, who won four TT races in a week in 1996, and bagged him and Honda the overall TT rider and manufacturer championships.

Fellow Honda riders Klaus Klaffenbock and sidecar passenger Dan Sayle won two races and Jenny Tinmouth extended her title as the fastest woman around the Mountain Course with a an average speed of 119.954mph on her Honda.

The manufacturer now has some 155 TT race victories to its name, having entered the competition for the first time in 1959.
