I came to P&H on a recommendation from my brother who bought a CBR600RR from the dealership 2 years ago. When we walked in, Ray remembered him, started chatting as if they were old friends, and then talked through what I was looking for. I was pretty much set on a Triumph Speed Triple from another dealership, but still considering other options. Given my height, and need for something to handle the commute but always put a smile on my face, Ray suggested the CB1000R, talked me through the bike, and then offered a test ride. I took a couple of weeks to think about it, almost put a deposit down on the Triumph, but given how Ray had enthused about the Honda, couldn’t part with the cash before I had a go…
The bike blew me away, Ray negotiated a cracking deal on a bike which was slightly older stock, and I said I’d think about it overnight. I came back in first thing the following morning with the intention to buy, and found the bike had sold that afternoon, my heart sank, and figured it wasn’t meant to be.
On the Monday, I received a phone call from Ray, actually apologising he’d sold the bike(!), and offering to try and get close to the same deal on a brand new 1000R once he’d checked the stock sites. 10 minutes later, another phone call, and a deal was done.
The build up to receiving the bike was excellent. Ray always kept me up to date with where the bike was, what was happening to it, what I needed to provide, even letting me choose the plate number. When Ray wasn’t in, Duncan kept up the tradition of impeccable customer service – I didn’t have to make one phone call, I was always kept fully up to speed on everything.
The bike was stunning when I came to pick it up, and fitted with the extras I’d asked for. The finance agreement with Honda was sorted quickly, and Ray talked through the paperwork succinctly so I was in no doubt about what I was signing and why. All the controls etc were covered off on the bike itself, Ray checked my understanding of everything, and I was given ample opportunity to raise any questions at any point (I didn’t, it was all covered).
The bike is awesome, the service was impeccable, and Ray made sure I was completely happy before parting with a wedge of hard earned cash - worth adding that he makes a fine cuppa as well! At the moment it’s hard to think of wanting to buy another bike, but when I do, it’ll be at P&H.
