The design team have gone to town with the 2009 Yamaha XJ6 ABS to make them the most rideable, enjoyable, cool and fun motorbikes possible. The new easy-action clutch and redesigned engine, brimming with low and mid range torque, make it a true pleasure to ride. With a dependable and well balanced flow of power on tap whenever you need it, a lightweight diamond-style tubular steel frame, plus superb suspension, you have a superb, agile and easy-to-handle motorbike, whether you're winding through traffic or speeding through sweeping turns up in the hills.
And its looks are faultless too, with the coolest of contemporary naked styling, from the shield-shaped headlamp to the sharp tail cluster complimented by a funky four-into-one under-slung exhaust.
For the price tag, new motorcycles don't get much more ideal than this, and you could pay a great deal more and get a great deal less. Add in the reassurance of ABS for just a few hundred pounds and the Yamaha XJ6 ABS still gives you enough change from five hundred quid to treat yourself to a nice new lid to match your stylish machine. What's more, you should get much of that back in the unlikely event that you ever want to part with it.
