FZ Series motorcycles all have the heart of a racer in a versatile body. The brutal power and impressive torque comes from engines based on Yamaha Supersport bikes.

The ideology of the FZ series is straightforward: real-world performance you can enjoy wherever, whenever. So we applied our Art of Engineering philosophy to creating machines that excite on every ride. That means the engine uses refined cam profiles, intake/exhaust spec and fuel injection mapping for astonishing thrust over a broad rpm range.

FZ Series models are built for real life with confidence-boosting handling, renowned Yamaha build quality and traffic-stopping looks that take your breath away.

Lean, mean looks

The FZ1 and FZ1/ABS come with the kind of lean, muscularity that makes a statement wherever you go. These are purebred sports machines, and that applies to their looks too; FZ models express their power even before you turn the throttle.
998cc Supersport-based engine

Open up the FZ1 or FZ1/ABS, and you'll feel a specially-tuned version of Yamaha's 998cc Supersport engine that made its name as one of the top performers in its category, both on the road and on the race track.
Powerful torque

The FZ1/ABS comes with high levels of torque to give superb acceleration in the mid-speed range. What this means for the rider is a machine that is exciting, versatile and easy to use in a range of common riding situations.
Rigid but agile aluminium frame

The FZ1/ABS comes with a Deltabox aluminium frame designed to match the performance of the Supersport-based engine. The compact size has been made by using Yamaha's pioneering mould casting system, which allows it to be built with an idealised rigidity balance for excellent handling.
Forward riding position

You will have plenty of traction and perfect suspension on the FZ1/ABS, whether you're on winding country lanes or bumpy city streets, thanks to the extra-long truss-type aluminium 624mm swingarm suspension. Engineered through Yamaha's exclusive 'CF die-cast' aluminium casting method, it's both light and strong.
Massive dual front disc brakes

The first time you get on an FZ1 you notice the comfortable forward inclined riding position. A short fuel tank and long seat, along with low, close handlebars give a sporty forward riding position that aids the agile, responsive handling by positioning the rider closer to the front wheel.

Dual 320 mm front disc brakes reflect the FZ1's high performance potential. These large-diameter discs are gripped by radially mounted 4-piston calipers that are extremely resistant to deformation during braking, and deliver excellent control. This is backed up by a 245 mm disc at the rear.

With their origins in manufacturing musical instruments, Japanese company Yamaha began diversifying in the 1950s to produce simple, inexpensive motorbikes. Today, they are a leading motorcycle manufacturer, and are best known for producing some of the most powerful sports bikes, off-road bikes and cruisers available.

P&H Motorcycles stocks a large range of new Yamaha motorcycles, including sports touring bikes, street bikes, sport torque bikes, cruisers, adventurers, and 125cc models. Exciting additions to our 2009 range of Yamaha bikes include the groundbreaking YZF-R1 with the first asymmetric crossplane crankshaft layout ever seen on a production bike, and the XT660XSM inspired by the on road/off road Supermotard bikes. As the latest addition to Yamaha's cruiser category, the XVS 950A Midnight Star is long and low, with a newly-designed, powerful 942cc v-twin engine, even though it remains lightweight in feel. In addition to these and other Yamaha bikes, we offer a range of popular Yamaha scooters, including high wheel scooters and maxi scooters.

To find out more about any of the Yamaha bikes or scooters, contact us to speak to a P&H motorcycle representative today.
