Being restricted to 125cc by your licence doesn't have to mean being restricted on your fun – especially if you have the new 2008 Yamaha X-Max 125 to ride.
Lithe, stylish, and agile, this doesn't look much like a beginners bike and it doesn't behave like one either. Giving you 10.36 of your maximum permissible 11kW of power, Yamaha have definitely taken the training wheels off this mighty new motor scooter. In fact, the X Max 125 nips along with an admirable enthusiasm as the sportiest Yamaha scooter in the 125 class, comfortably carrying two without complaint.
The sturdy twin shock chassis is ready for anything, with big 15" front and 14" rear wheels, and wide twin piston disc brakes front and back. This is no little run around - this is a bike to be respected and admired.
Climb aboard and you've got a generous seat for both rider and passenger, with ample legroom, giving you an upright, alert riding position ideal for taking on the traffic. Beneath the seat there's enough space for two helmets, while the lockable glove box keeps your wallet and iPod close to hand.

Set off and you'll be kept well informed by the red back-lit instrument panel as this magnificent motor scooter winds its way through the traffic with remarkably responsive handling.
For many manufacturers, scooters are little more than convenient urban transport. But with Yamaha you get so much more. There's a certain style, poise, a joie de vivre about these bikes that makes them more than just a way to get from A to B. And even if that is your ultimate objective this remarkable little bike is so satisfying to ride you could find yourself taking a leaf out of Mr McGregor's book and going the long way round.

With their origins in manufacturing musical instruments, Japanese company Yamaha began diversifying in the 1950s to produce simple, inexpensive motorbikes. Today, they are a leading motorcycle manufacturer, and are best known for producing some of the most powerful sports bikes, off-road bikes and cruisers available.

P&H Motorcycles stocks a large range of new Yamaha motorcycles, including sports touring bikes, street bikes, sport torque bikes, cruisers, adventurers, and 125cc models. Exciting additions to our 2009 range of Yamaha bikes include the groundbreaking YZF-R1 with the first asymmetric crossplane crankshaft layout ever seen on a production bike, and the XT660XSM inspired by the on road/off road Supermotard bikes. As the latest addition to Yamaha's cruiser category, the XVS 950A Midnight Star is long and low, with a newly-designed, powerful 942cc v-twin engine, even though it remains lightweight in feel. In addition to these and other Yamaha bikes, we offer a range of popular Yamaha scooters, including high wheel scooters and maxi scooters.
