The KTM Superduke 990 - power and agility in one superbike

KTM, the Austrian motorcycle manufacturer has done it again. They've come up with a new motorbike that's full of hybrid vigour and a few nice surprises too. The KTM Superduke 990 is a supermoto style bike, but the design has been revolutionised by adding in a massive 990cc V-twin engine with advanced electronic fuel injection. What a combination!

The engine is a tried and tested one from the KTM 950 Adventure but its reincarnation in the 990 Superduke is kinder to the environment, producing minimal emissions. The chassis of the Superduke 990 has also been modified, and the result is a solid bike that instils confidence, but handles with the agility of one half its size. Unlike the smaller supermoto bikes with a single cylinder engine, the KTM Superduke range provides consistent power, with more there if you need it.

The design of the KTM 990 Superduke is finely sculpted which means you could easily mistake it for a racing bike. The engine sits down low in the frame, and the quality of the Brembo brakes is evident even just from look at them on the front wheel. The superduke suspension is taut and equally communicative, conveying instant feedback on the road or track. A fantastic ride but you'll need an off-road experience, or a track ride, to fully test the enormous capabilities of the KTM 990 Superduke.
