Kawasaki Intelligent Braking System(KIBS) is a multi-sensing system, using the input from numerous sources. In addition to front and rear wheel speed sensors, KIBS also monitors the front caliper hydraulic pressure and other information from the engine ECU (throttle position, engine speed, clutch actuation as well as gear position). It is the first mass-production motorcycle system to feature communication between the engine ECU and ABS ECU.

This high-precision brake pressure control enables the system to avoid reduced brake performance due to excessive pressure drops, allows lever feel to be maintained when KIBS is active, and ensures ABS pulses feel smooth (not heavy).

Redesigned for 2012 with an all new engine, the ZX10R comes in two stiking colour themes. The sculpted tank offers the same 17 litre capacity as the previous model. The instrument display has been reworked for 2012 to incorporate a digital readout giving all the vital information. The new engine gives maximum performance through all parts of cornering and has been designed to obtain as much torque as possible at the higher RPM range.

The position of the shock absorber has been repositioned above the swing arm which benefits the road holding and makes for a smoother ride.
