For 2008, Kawasaki have tuned the punchy 249cc, parallel twin, DOHC engine to give more low and mid range poke through the six speed box, while the top end lives up to its billing as a Ninja motorbike, delivering 30bhp at 10,500rpm and 15.5ft/lb of torque. And while it shares the head turning style of its superbike siblings, it remains surprisingly economical to run.
New 17" wheels give the Kawasaki Ninja 250R exceptional handling and stability, while the 37mm telescopic front forks and high spec Uni-Trak rear suspension smooth the ride on even the roughest urban roads. Tenacious twin calliper front disc brakes provide more than enough stopping power, with heat dissipating petal discs adding to the superbike kudos even if they're not strictly needed at this level.
Combine this performance and handling with a very natural, upright riding position and well thought out ergonomics, and you've got a rider friendly bike that is both sporty and superbly easy to control. It's perfect for building the confidence needed to step up to the awesome power of the rest of the Ninja family, or perhaps just give you a taste of those dream bikes that are, for now, beyond your budget.
