You can't help thinking that Honda is taking a risk describing the NC700s as a new concept - the 'fun naked' bike. But whatever has been lost in translation, it's easy to see the sentiment they were going for. For far too long, naked bikes have been all about frill-free, bare-knuckle fighting, often missing 'fun' by a wide margin. However, with the 2012 NC700s, Honda has put this right in style.
Completing Honda's trio of 2012 bikes featuring their all new 670 cc power plant, the NC700s could well be the most fun. Stripped of any superfluous tat that complicates the look or detracts from the naked styling, yet still packed with performance-enhancing technology, the Honda NC700s has everything you need for an exciting ride, and nothing you don't.
State-of-the-art features include Honda's excellent combined anti-lock braking (C-ABS) and dual clutch transmission, which not only provides smooth changes and finger tip control, but also offers automatic mode*** too, leaving you free to enjoy the ride. The compact new engine also incorporates the latest technology, delivering plenty of that crucial naked bike grunt at low revs and smooth, responsive power up through the range.

What's more, the low centre of gravity and a low seating position combine to make the 2012 Honda NC700s highly manoeuvrable too, whether you're tearing across town in the traffic or letting rip on the open road.
Surprisingly, despite its stripped back, naked styling, the NC700s is a remarkably refined machine, even offering you storage space for a full face helmet amongst what little bodywork remains, while still leaving space for a 14 litre fuel tank. Not that you'll need anything like that much, with the NC700s returning a frugal 78 mpg despite its outstanding performance.
