The oft-repeated argument from car drivers is that they like their creature comforts too much; the comfy seats, the heaters, the stereo, the airbags. Yet the incredible Honda GL 1800 Goldwing has all of these and more - with an adrenaline rush few cars can even come close to.

Reading the spec list the only luxury the 2008 Gold Wing seems to lack is a chauffeur. But then with a sublime ride quality like this the last thing you want is someone else in the driver's seat. Quite simply, there aren't enough superlatives to do this magnificent motorbike justice, whether you're talking about its levels of luxury, its amazing equipment, or its pure power. It's easy to use a cliché like 'the ultimate motorcycle', but it's hard to see how Honda could have made it much better.

On board refinements include a six speaker 80watt stereo system, with the option of a six CD changer to put in the rear box. The grips are heated, the exquisitely comfy seats are heated, each with individual temperature controls. There's even satellite navigation as standard on these fabulous machines, just to remind you that, despite all evidence to the contrary, you haven't died and gone to heaven.

Technically, these new motorcycles are just as refined. The 1832cc flat six will give you everything you could ever want from an engine, with cruise control so you don't even have to twist the throttle to enjoy its power. This is kept under control by a multi-box-section dual spar aluminium frame, and computer controlled rear suspension with two memory settings for your favourite passengers. There's even a push-button electric reverse, to help you park it perfectly, and yes, it really does have an airbag too, raising the safety of these motorbikes to a whole new level.

Forget the car comparisons; these legendary Honda motorcycles are more like a Lear Jet on wheels. One can only wonder at Honda's generous 3 year, unlimited mileage warranty. You'll want to take this amazing machine a long, long way in that sort of time.
