Ducati S4RSWith a hefty price tag of nine and a half thousand pounds, the new Ducati S4Rs has a lot to live up to - but don't worry, Ducati simply doesn't do disappointment. Much more than just an updated version of the old S4R, they've virtually built a whole new motorcycle around the old chassis. The 2008 S4Rs now boasts the fabulously fast 999 V-twin four-stroke engine, with eight valves delivering a heart stopping 128bhp at 9,500rpm to give a top speed of 155mph. But this motorbike is about more than just flashy flat out speeds. With a broad spread of power there's torque to spare to pull you out of the slowest bends and rip you through the gears with adrenaline-fuelled acceleration. To help you tame this beast, Ducati have added an all-new Ohlins suspension system and fitted the Goldline Brembo racing calliper brakes that keep the 999R in check on the track. And they've dressed it in its Sunday best too, with head turning Sport Classic standard bodywork including hand-finished fuel tanks with a gloss sheen so deep you feel you could dive right in. This is Ducati motorcycles at their very best - offering you a full-on 999 superbike that's ready for the road. And while it may be stripped of its racing bodywork and dropped handlebars, they've left almost everything else to give you all the authentic Ducati thrill in a high class street cruiser. So is it worth the high price tag? Well, whatever you demand from your motorbike, the answer remains an unqualified yes. From breathtaking speed to agile acceleration, from a superlative ride to stunning handling, this thoroughbred Ducati is every inch the real deal. From front tyre to tailpipe it oozes the style and ripples with the muscles of its famous heritage. As ever, you get what you pay for.
