Ducati Hypermotard

First unveiled at the November 2005 EICMA trade show in Milan, The Hypermotard is the first off-road Ducati motorbike to be produced since the 1960's and follows the latest trend of producing “Supermotards" - off-road bikes with street wheels, tyres, and brakes.

The Ducati Hypermotard's “Motard" styling has been combined with the Ducati Sportsbike's trademark L-twin engine to produce a modern Ducati motorbike that is the best of both worlds. The impressive specifications of the Hypermotard include a 1100cc 160 horsepower dual spark engine that can achieve a cruising speed of 220km, while still only weighing in at 385lb.

Reduced to its bare essentials, the Ducati Hypermotard is light, slim, and compact, thanks to its streamlined shape, but is still capable of powerful acceleration and impressive speeds.  Its rigid frame is complemented by state-of-the-art suspension in the form of Ohlins shock absorbers attached to a strong, single-sided swingarm. The Hypermotard also offers excellent rider feedback through its tapered handlebars and full length seat design for easy movement and superior traction during turns. Finally, Brembo Monobloc brake calipers and lightweight forged aluminium wheels add to the bike's already impressive lightness and agility.

The 2007 Hypermotard's engine makes for a potently thrilling off-road experience, and its superior engineering makes this fabulous motorcycle experience smooth and streamlined. It's little wonder then that the Ducati Hypermotard motorbike has been the recipient of several “Best of Show" awards in the past.
