The times when the simple twist and go scooter was, well, simple, are long gone. These days, these ubiquitous city machines feature the very latest technology that has been developed, tested and passed down from the biggest and most advanced of bikes. The Honda Vision 110 has all the classic scooter styling, with the traditional feet forward riding style and bodywork that offers plenty of rider protection as well as acres of storage. But don't be fooled by the uncomplicated looks, because this is a bike of the highest specification, designed to make your ride as smooth and safe as possible, without taking away any of that scootering sense of fun and freedom.
From electronic ignition to PGM-FI electronic fuel injection, the Honda Vision 110 is an advanced scooter. And it stops as effectively as it goes, thanks to 220 mm discs to the front and Honda's high tech Combined Braking System (CBS). Add in a state-of-the-art, air-cooled, four stroke overhead cam, twin valve, single cylinder engine, with enough nip and tuck to weave you safely across the city, and you've got one serious scooter.
Yet the Honda Vision 110 is still accessible to a wide range of riders, from novices to experienced commuters, with an easy handling style and all the automatic ease of Honda's workhorse V-Matic transmission. What's more, priced at around £1,800 on the road, and delivering a hugely impressive 146.9 mpg, it's widely affordable too, especially when you look at the ever increasing costs of public transport.
Honda have had a firm grip on the scooter market for many years, and the new Vision 110 looks set to keep them firmly in contention, as new riders discover the cost-effective convenience of city scootering.
